Life with boys
Life with boys has definitely changed over the years—but it’s never boring.
My oldest is giving me a somewhat unwanted lesson in letting go as he serves in the U.S. Coast Guard—fittingly stationed in Florida and working on a cutter. Clearly, my love of the water rubbed off.
My youngest is still in high school and keeps us plenty busy as a competitive swimmer—following in the wake of his diver brother—plus football and a general “let’s go do something!” approach to life.
And then there are Harley + Pickle, our two cats, who have completely stolen my heart and bring me an unreasonable amount of joy.

Hands down, water is my happy place.
Lake days, boat rides, sunshine + that slower pace instantly make everything feel a little lighter. It’s also a huge part of what inspires the relaxed, welcoming homes I love most.
Summertime ‘lake days’ are basically considered sacred in our family. Sorry. Can’t. Lake. Bye.
